Hey all,
I recently installed Ubuntu Netbook Remix on my HP Mini. All was going swimmingly, including getting my iPod working with it. Then the audio broke.
I've tried following the instructions here: ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php to no avail.
Audio works when I fire up Aramok or Rhythmbox, I can get a test sound when I set the audio for the OSS driver, but I don't get system sounds, the volume up/down buttons visually change but not with any auditory notification, and sound doesn't work with websites (youtube, ie) or when I play Metal Blob.
I can reinstall the OS, I suppose (ive been backing up my data, so it shouldn't be a problem) but I'd rather fix it than nuke it.
