PowerBook,...Ubuntu ?

I've just put my Panther in a bigger box,and have extra space for a linux/ubuntu?,still looking for a good download site & or kind advice.I'm new and very game to grow some with this,(presently toying about) w/3 g3 500mX1g units + lots hd space,...
When i have a good view,will set up G3 Tiger1 w/Ubuntu2 Two times for work outs as/before i move to intel chips.
Most important is what release(Ubuntu) might be best for the ppc G3?500

    Maybe Yellowdog? I have run Ubuntu on PPC (iMac) and it was OK. No Flash so it was web crippled. Not that Yellowdog is going to do any better as it's Adobe's game and Flash on GNU/Linux is still limited to x86 I believe (worked for me w/ 64 bit OS but MMV).

    Have fun with OpenBoot. :)
