Hi!
So I got my EeePC 900. Tried Xandros, honest... but I hated it. So I wiped the main FLASH and put Eee Ubuntu ( ubuntu-eee.tuxfamily.org/ ) on it.
Wow! What a fantastic OS for a fantastic machine. All the bells and whistles of Ubuntu 8.04, but tailored for the Eee... WiFi, Ethernet, Sound, Webcam, Flash storage... all that works! Out of the box. Some tunings required still for some very minor glitches, but my, do I love my Eee PC 900 with Ubuntu!
No way I'm going back to Xandros!
Gilles.

Re: New Eee PC 900... removed Xandros and put Eee Ubuntu
Tue, June 24, 2008 - 9:39 AMI've been trying to get the installer built, and have run into an error that I can't figure out:
milo@MiUbuntu:~$ sudo ./isotostick.sh ubuntu-eee-804.iso /dev/sdb1
Not verifying image...(no checkisomd5 in Ubuntu so skipping)!
mount: you must specify the filesystem type
Cleaning up to exit...
umount: /media/cdtmp.nH7045: not mounted
I am not sure where I'm supposed to specify the filesystem type. I've looked at the shell script, and I couldn't figure out if that's what was broken or not.
If anyone can help, I'd be grateful.
