Re: gOS distro (based on Ubuntu)
Sun, May 25, 2008 - 1:33 AMI installed it just for a looksee the last time I reinstalled a system. It has the look and feel of a MAC on the desktop. It has access to Google online software as well as being a Google desktop. As long as Google does not get stupid wiith advertising the way that yahoo did I think that it would be a good os for the casual user. Of course being ubuntu/debian based it has potential to be a real springboard into the world of free/community based software. -

Re: gOS distro (based on Ubuntu)
Tue, August 12, 2008 - 12:16 AMI have to admit, after trying literally a hundred disks of various distros, I keep coming back to Ubuntu and Debian. I have tons of complaints about both, but still, in an imperfect world, they seem to be solid options. Some other distros seem to work better for me, for a while, but then, over time, somehow can't match Ubuntu and Debian for consistency of performance. For a while I was digging gOS, but found I missed Ubuntu and Debian after a while. When I can get some newer used computers, I plan to still surf and try a hundred more distro disks, but, while I'm still a bit broke, I'm sticking with my home distros.
